Before we Continue, Let’s talk a little about Ghana Immigration Service (GIS)

The Ghana Immigration Service started as the Immigration and Passport Unit of the Gold Coast Colonial Police Force under the command of Mr. Nevile C. Hill. On attainment of independence in 1957, the rapid expansion of the economy coupled with Ghana’s role as a trailblazer in the African liberation struggle led to the country being swamped with foreign businessmen, tourists and African aliens. To control this influx, a Cabinet decision in 1960 transferred the Immigration Unit to the Ministry of the Interior as a separate department, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs took over the issuing of passports. These measures were taken to enhance service delivery. Three (3) years later, the aliens Act 1963, Act 160 was enacted to give legal backing to immigration operations.

All candidates are to satisfy the following requirements:

GENERAL DUTIES
• Must be a Ghanaian citizen by birth with no criminal record.
• Must possess a first degree.
• Must have completed National Service.
• Must be of a minimum age of 18 and not more than 30 years by 31st December, 2025.
• Must be physically and medically fit.
• Must be of good character.
• Must not be bonded.
• Must have a minimum height of 173 cm (5ft 8inch) for Males and 163 cm (5ft 4inch) for Female.

LAWYERS
• Must be a Ghanaian citizen by birth with no criminal record.
• Must have served 2 – 5 years at the Bar.
• Must have completed National Service.
• Must be computer Literate.
• Must be of a minimum age of 21 and not more than 35 years by 31st December, 2025.
• Must be physically and medically fit.
• Must be of good character.
• Must not be bonded.
• Must have a minimum height of 173 cm (5ft 8inch) for Males and 163 cm (5ft 4inch) for Female.

ICT
• Must be a Ghanaian citizen by birth with no criminal record.
• Must possess Higher National Diploma [HND] in ICT.
• Must have completed National Service.
• Must be of a minimum age of 18 and not more than 30 years by 31st December, 2025.
• Must be physically and medically fit.
• Must be of good character.
• Must not be bonded.
• Must have a minimum height of 173 cm (5ft 8inch) for Males and 163 cm (5ft 4inch) for Female.

ACCOUNTING
•   Must be a Ghanaian citizen by birth with no criminal record.
•   Must possess Higher National Diploma [HND] in Accounting.
•   Must have completed National Service.
•   Must be computer literate.
•   Must be of a minimum age of 18 and not more than 30 years by 31st December, 2025.
•   Must be physically and medically fit.
•   Must be of good character.
•   Must not be bonded.
•   Must have a minimum height of 173 cm (5ft 8inch) for Males and 163 cm (5ft 4inch) for Females.

STATISTICS
•   Must be a Ghanaian citizen by birth with no criminal record.
•   Must possess Higher National Diploma [HND] in Statistics.
•   Must have completed National Service.
•   Must be computer literate.
•   Must be of a minimum age of 18 and not more than 30 years by 31st December, 2025.
•   Must be physically and medically fit.

NB: Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) Recruitment Online Applications Begins 29th November 2025 and ends on 11th December 2025.

Carefully read through the entry and recruitment instructions on this page before proceeding to apply for GIS enlistment. Make your decisions and take note of all required data in the subsequent steps.

  1. Visit the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) Recruitment Portal via http://apply.joingis.com/
  2. Click on the Apply Now tab and enter the e-voucher serial and pin code details. Select your highest educational level.
  3. Select preferred branch and enter your Bio and Educational data and upload a passport sized picture of dimension (200×180) pixels before submitting.
  4. Print out a copy of the application summary report, which contains details of your Applicant Identification (ID Number) and other relevant data.
  5. Once the application is successfully submitted you can come back before the closing date to print your summary report with help of the card purchased.

IMPORTANT: Supply only genuine data about yourself (Bio & Educational). Any form of false data submitted would not be treated lightly by GIS command, and defaulters would be apprehended and prosecuted.

Make sure to buy your e-voucher from any of the Ghana Commercial Bank branches across the country from 27th November 2025 to 28th December 2025. You will need the serial number and the pin code from the e-voucher before starting the registration process.

Dear civilians the Ghana Immigration Service E-RECRUITMENT has then starts but because of the Covid-19 the Cards were not sent to the public station i mean the post offices and the banks but is in the Immigration office now so if you are JHS SHS or DEGREE HOLDER and apart of that if you are a driver ,singer ,drummer or you no how to run you too can apply for the protocol.
