Manchester United have reportedly withdrawn their pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, as a €70 million deal for Wolverhampton’s Matheus Cunha nears completion.

Osimhen, who excelled during a loan at Galatasaray by scoring 30 goals in 33 games and winning both the Turkish Super Lig and Turkish Cup, is attracting interest from several European and Saudi Arabian clubs.

Financial constraints and a tactical formation favoring a single striker mean Manchester United are unlikely to accommodate Osimhen’s high transfer fee and wages this summer.

Galatasaray hopes to make Osimhen’s stay permanent, but his next club remains uncertain as the transfer window approaches.
