Tinubu Urges Nigerian Police to Stop Intimidation, Abuse and Uphold Rule of Law
President Bola Tinubu has admonished Nigerian police officers to avoid intimidating and abusing the public, emphasizing their duty to uphold the rule of law and serve with professionalism.
Speaking at the 2nd Annual IGP’s Award and Commendation Ceremony in Abuja, represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu highlighted the government’s ongoing support through modern equipment, training, and welfare programs aimed at enhancing police efficiency and morale.
He encouraged awards recipients to continue setting high standards of discipline, hard work, and integrity, urging all officers to honor the trust placed in them by Nigerians.
The president stressed that true respect for the police force arises from accountability, protection of citizens’ rights, and rejection of corruption and misconduct.
