Kano State Warns of Poisonous Air Pollution Causing Respiratory Risks in Multiple Neighborhoods
The Kano State Government has issued a warning about poisonous air pollution in several areas of the state capital, based on a recent environmental report highlighting unsafe air quality in neighborhoods such as Gaida, Ja’en, Sabon Titi, and Sharada Market.
Residents in these affected areas have reported increases in respiratory illnesses and health issues, with concerns linked to industrial emissions and unplanned urbanization.
The report measured an Air Quality Index of 79, mainly due to elevated PM2.5 levels, which pose serious health risks including respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.
Health experts urge government intervention to implement stricter environmental regulations and advise residents to take precautions to reduce exposure.
