Interpol Arrests Three in Ghana for Trafficking Stolen Nigerian SUVs, Recovers Vehicles
Three suspects were arrested in Accra, Ghana, by INTERPOL operatives for stealing and trafficking vehicles stolen from Nigeria, including a 2020 Toyota Prado stolen from a Federal Government agency in Abuja.
The Prado was recovered and returned to Nigeria, while the suspects have been charged to court in Ghana.
Separately, a 2018 Toyota Hilux stolen in Abuja was recovered at the Nigeria-Niger border, with ongoing efforts to recover two more stolen vehicles reportedly sold in Niger.
Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun praised INTERPOL’s collaboration and urged Nigerians to register their vehicles electronically to aid recovery efforts.
