Indian police arrested 25-year-old Sonam Raghuvanshi, who disappeared after her husband Raja Raghuvanshi was found murdered during their honeymoon in Meghalaya.

Authorities allege Sonam hired assassins to kill her husband, with four men arrested in connection with the case, though her father insists she is innocent.

The couple married in Indore on May 11, went missing on May 24, and Raja’s body was found with his throat slit; their families had pressured police and the federal government for justice.

Meghalaya’s officials praised the investigation’s progress amid accusations against local police, while Sonam’s family calls for a federal inquiry into the case.
