Delta Councillor Obukoadata Aghoghofia Dies After Collapsing During Football Match
Obukoadata Aghoghofia, the councillor for Evwreni Ward 8 in Ughelli North, Delta State, died suddenly after collapsing during a football match.
His death marks the third serving councillor’s passing in the state within nine months and has deeply affected the local council and community.
Ughelli North Local Government Chairman Olorogun Jaro Egbo mourned Aghoghofia as a distinguished legislator and close friend, expressing shock and grief over the loss.
This incident follows the recent death of another Delta councillor, Agent Friday Ohwoevworuemu, in April 2025.
